Weatherford ISD Early Release 1-6-17

When we monitor road conditions during bad weather events, safety is our first consideration. We are currently experiencing changing road conditions due to the snow/sleet that began falling around noon today. As a result, WISD will release at 2:30 pm today, January 6, 2017.

By releasing students early, we allow our bus drivers to have maximum visibility to avoid problem areas on the road – especially on rural bridges and overpasses. In addition, an early release gives our high school students the opportunity to drive before road conditions worsen.

Buses will run their usual routes. Parents of bus riders should expect their children home approximately 1 hour earlier than normal.

Our maintenance department is currently treating sidewalks and campus entrances. Parents are advised to use caution in school parking lots and on all campus sidewalks.

All after school activities, including Kids Unite and athletic practices, are also cancelled due to extremely low temperatures and potential precipitation.
