WHS bands earn one Sweepstakes, multiple Division I ratings at last week's UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest

The WHS Symphonic Band (non-varsity classification) received Division I ratings from four out of six judges earning a unanimous Division I rating in the sightreading portion.

Weatherford's Wind Symphony (varsity classification) earned unanimous Division I ratings from all six judges and brought home the coveted Sweepstakes Award. This prestigious award represents Division I ratings in UIL Marching, Concert and Sightreading contests.

This past October, the band earned Division I ratings from three judges. Also, this is the fifth consecutive year the WHS Band has received Division I ratings at all three contests.

Weatherford High School's Wind Symphony will be holding an encore performance of their UIL program this Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 in the WHS Durant Auditorium. The performance is free to the public.
