NTHS
Weatherford High School became a member of National Technical Honor Society on September 11, 1998. The honor society recognizes outstanding student achievement in Career and Technical Education. More than 2,500 schools and colleges throughout the United States and its territories are affiliated with the society.
The mission of the Weatherford Chapter
- Recognize and honor excellence in our CTE students
- Encourage students to reach for higher levels of achievement, develop self-esteem and pride
- Promote critical workplace values - including skill development, honesty, service, citizenship and leadership
- Promote educational excellence in America.
Membership Qualifications
- Serve as an Active member or Officer of a Career and Technical Education Organization.
- Teacher recommendation
- Maintain a high school cumulative average of at least a 3.00. (Beginning with the 2012-2013 school year, the required GPA will be 3.30. For 2013-2014 and beyond the requirement will be 3.50)
Student Membership Benefits Organization activities and opportunities to participate in leadership activities (Roo Review and possibly middle school career presentations)
- Induction ceremony
- Wearing NTHS Honor Society cord at graduation (free to students who meet specified requirements during their time in NTHS—others will be required to purchase their own)
- Personal recommendations for employment, college admission and scholarships provided by the Society’s national headquarters.
