Danna Farmer - Cosmetology I and II

Whether you are taking cosmetology as a career choice, or for something to help pay your way through college, you will have fun and learn all about the beauty industry, while earning your professional license to begin work as a cosmetologist as soon as you graduate from school. My Texas Cosmetology Instructors License is from Weatherford College, and my teaching certificate is from Wayland Baptist University.

Cosmetology students in Weatherford compete in Skills USA at District, State, and National competitions in various locations. They meet new people and have endless job opportunities. As the club advisor I have seen our students win the state haircutting competition in Corpus Christi and given jobs on the spot.

Jennifer Pool

I graduated from Tarleton State University with a degree in Human Sciences and a teaching certification. I taught in the Keller ISD, and then got the opportunity to come "home" to WHS to teach. It was definitely a dream come true! I teach Child Development, Interior Design, Principles of Education, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, and also Principles of Human Services.

My philosophy: If I can impact the life of even one student in a positive way, then I can consider myself and my career choice a success.

Amanda Burlison, RD, CPT-Culinary Arts, Lifetime Nutrition & Wellness, Food Science

I graduated from the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at Texas Christian University. This rigorous program enabled me to build a strong foundation in foodservice management and become a registered dietitian. After having children, I took my interest in health and wellness a step further and acquired my personal trainer certification. My culinary background has been focused in catering, event planning, and private dining. My overall philosophy in the kitchen is make everything yourself from the best product available, the rest will fall into place

I have always loved school and learning, so working in education has been a natural fit. I am so excited to be teaching at Weatherford High School! I teach the Culinary Arts, Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness and Food Science. In my classroom, I try to follow the model my favorite teachers set. They treated me as an individual and a maturing adult. They set high standards for their students, and in return we set high standards for ourselves. By providing support to my students, they can work to meet their individual goals with success.
