Board Members approved the hiring and/or promotions of new district and campus
administrators at Tuesday’s regular monthly meeting in the District Services
Building Board Room.
Tracy Ray was hired as the District’s new Assistant Superintendent of Business
and Operations. Ray, who is currently employed by Stephenville ISD, will begin
her duties at Weatherford ISD on July 1.
“We are very happy to welcome Tracy into our
Weatherford ISD family,” WISD Superintendent Dr. Deborah Cron said. “She brings
a wealth of business experience to our District.”
Weatherford High School Defensive Coordinator Reid Waller was named the
school’s new head football coach – replacing the vacancy left by former head
coach Kenny Wheaton who recently accepted a position at HardingUniversity in Arkansas.
Waller has been the defensive coordinator
at WHS for the past three seasons, and WISD Executive Director of Athletics
Philip O’Neal said he was the perfect choice for the head coaching position.
“For the students and staff members, Coach Waller’s transition from defensive
coordinator to head coach was in the best interest for all our stakeholders who
are involved with the WISD athletic program,” O’Neal said. “Over the past three
years, he has not only inspired our student athletes, but also our coaches to
be the best that they can be.”
Waller, who earned his bachelor of science degree from StephenF.AustinUniversity in Nacogdoches
and his masters degree from EastTexasStateUniversity in Commerce, began his coaching career at HendersonHigh School in 1981. Then, in 1984, he
moved to Plano
where he taught and coached for 14 years.
Waller’s wife, Sarah, currently teaches kindergarten at Raymond Curtis
Elementary. They have two children: Sally, 22, and Abby, 14.
Mary Martin Elementary Assistant Principal
Lori Box was named the new principal at Juan Seguin Elementary. Box has been
employed at WISD since 2000, and has served as Martin’s assistant principal
