The goal of Weatherford ISD's Roos Go 1:World initiative is to empower students so they leave with the technology skills and knowledge they need to be globally competitive, now and in the future. Weatherford ISD recognizes the power of an innovative modern learning environment, which includes not only a device for each student, but the support and guidance to use that device to cultivate each student's skills, gifts, and talents. In doing so, we will promote student achievement by providing more opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, as well as a personalized approach to learning. Our teachers will be able to take learning outside the walls of the classroom and students will have 24/7 access to learning.
Students in 7th and 8th grade will be issued a Chromebook for educational purposes to be used throughout the school year. This device will be used in classrooms each day and will need to be brought school fully charged.
To ensure a robust network and a safe learning environment for students participating in the 1:World initiative, WISD will charge a technology usage fee of $25* per student per year. Students and parents will need to complete the "Student-Parent Device Use Agreement" and the "WISD Acceptable Use Policy" forms. These forms can be found on the right hand side of this web page.
*If this fee creates a financial hardship, please contact campus administration about your eligibility for a scholarship or reduction in fees.
