Curtis Elementary Teacher of the Year and WISD Elementary Teacher of the Year - Amanda Rogers

Her goal is to develop a classroom environment that ensures personal and education growth. She also encourages students to be innovative through Project Based Learning and leads an after-school Coding Club where students learn how to create computer software.

Education runs in the family as several of Rogers’ relatives were educators. Her great grandfather served as principal for many years, served on a school board, and was honored to have Green B. Trimble Technical School in Fort Worth named after him. His father, William Marshall Trimble, was a teacher, principal, and later a superintendent. He and a co-principal started a campaign to establish Arlington College, now known as the University of Texas at Arlington.

Rogers had the honor of witnessing her great grandfather impact countless lives through his career in education, and she hopes to keep his legacy alive by inspiring future generations to take risks and achieve their goals no matter what obstacles lay in front of them.
