Weatherford ISD Families –
Hope this email finds you and your family well and enjoying the July heat!
As promised, Weatherford ISD is offering our students and their families the opportunity to choose how they want to be taught for the 2020-2021 school year. There are two options: learning at school or remote virtual learning. While we want to see all of our students’ healthy smiling faces in our classrooms this Fall, we know that some of our families will want an online option for their children because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We respect your decision and encourage you to select the learning option that best fits your family. Our pledge is to support you and your children no matter what learning option is chosen.
To let us know your preferred learning platform (learning at school or remote virtual learning) you will log in to Skyward Family Access. Instructions for this process are linked below. We ask that you let us know your choice before July 31, 2020, if possible (deadline extended to August 5th). If we have not heard from you by then, you student’s campus will begin calling you to confirm your choice.
To help you make your decision, you will find attached the Weatherford ISD Smart Start Back to School plan for the 2020-2021 school year along with a Learning Options flyer and the Virtual Learning Academy Student Handbook. We have provided as much information as possible using the current guidelines from federal, state, and local officials as well as the Texas Education Agency. Please note, as of today, there are no orders from the Parker County Judge or the Parker County Health Liaison that would require Weatherford ISD to delay starting school as many school districts in Tarrant County were required to do today.
We hope this document will provide answers to the questions you might have regarding the reopening of our schools. Should you have additional questions, please submit them to us by clicking HERE.
We are grateful for your support as we continue to plan for the return of students on August 20th.
All the best,
Dr. Beau Rees
Superintendent of Schools
