Former WHS baseball player signs to play in Texas Collegiate League for second year

Hilton is actually returning for a second season with the Texas Marshals, a team based in McKinney. Last year, he finished 10th in the league with a 3.32 ERA and posted a 35:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

The upcoming season will be Hilton's first year in a SWOSU uniform after transferring from Northern Oklahoma College in Enid, where he was a starting pitcher for the Jets and helped lead the team to the Division II Junior College World series.

The Texas Collegiate League became Texas' first major collegiate summer wooden bat league in 2003. The TCL exists to provide the best summer league experience for the top professional prospects from colleges throughout the country by allowing those players with eligibility remaining to showcase and improve their skills in a wholesome, minor league-type atmosphere using wooden bats.

SWOSU Baseball begins its fourth season Feb. 1, 2015 against West Texas A&M in Canyon.
