Weatherford ISD has named Lisa Miranda as the district’s new director of finance following the April Board meeting.
Miranda brings over a decade of leadership experience in school finance and operations. She most recently served as a bond accountant for Gregory-Portland ISD and previously spent more than 10 years as director of finance and business services at Duncanville ISD, where she oversaw purchasing, payroll, accounting, and accounts payable operations.
During her tenure, she led major financial initiatives, including management of a $170 million bond program and coordination of districtwide audits across multiple departments.
“We are pleased to welcome Lisa to our finance team,” said Patricia Melendez, interim chief financial officer. “Her knowledge of school finance and attention to detail will help ensure that Weatherford ISD continues to operate with transparency, efficiency, and a strong commitment to responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.”
Miranda earned both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland.
In her role, Miranda will assist with budget development, financial reporting, and ensuring alignment with state and local requirements.
