Weatherford ISD to Open 2 Hours Late on Wednesday

After monitoring road conditions in our school district this afternoon, administrators have determined WISD will have a 2 hour delayed start on Wednesday, December 11.
By opening 2 hours later than normal, we allow our bus drivers to have maximum visibility to avoid problem areas on the road. It also keeps students out of the pre-dawn cold.

Buses will run their usual routes but will pick up students two hours later than normal on Wednesday.

WISD and First Student are aware that some roads, especially in the northern part of our district, remain covered in ice. Parents who have a question about their bus route should contact First Student after 7:45 am 817-599-3189.

Your safety is our highest priority. Parents should use discretion if it is unsafe to travel from their home. Parents of teenage drivers should also use discretion and advise their children to use extreme caution if driving to school.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience as we work to re-open school and we look forward to seeing our WISD Roos tomorrow!

• Austin Elementary – use main entrance on Washington; no student entrance from Texas Drive
• Crockett Elementary – normal student drop off
• Curtis Elementary – student drop off will be moved to the back of the campus in rear parking area
• Ikard Elementary – normal student drop off
• Martin Elementary – normal student drop off
• Seguin Elementary – normal student drop off
• Wright Elementary – normal student drop off
• Hall Middle School – no entrance through main doors by office; other entrances will be open
• Tison Middle School – students should use main entrance by office
• Ninth Grade Center – students will enter through main entrance; no cafeteria entrance
• Weatherford High School – no entry through Durant Auditorium or J Hall doors; students will start the day with 3rd period
