WISD Board of Trustees Approves GMP for Tison Middle School Project

At its March 10, 2016 regular meeting, the Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $7,361,374 for the construction that will occur at Tison Middle School as part of Proposition 2 from the May 9, 2015 Bond Election.

The construction at Tison Middle School will include a wing designed to add capacity for a grades 6-8 campus, a controlled entry for campus safety and security, access control and security camera upgrades, traffic flow improvements, and track and field improvements that are equitable to the new Hall Middle School.

Zach Walker, Vice President at Pogue Construction, reported 122 proposals were received for the Tison Middle School construction. Of those, seven were from local bidders.

Now that the final GMP is known, all projects, including professional services, Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E), and technology for all propositions reaffirm the total bond amount of $74,900,000. The total cost for all projects associated with the bond is currently $355,191 under the estimated cost. Dr. Jeffrey Hanks stated, “The District is very pleased with the number of competitive bids received for these projects. This means more dollars are available to address the needs of the District. We will continue to seek additional value-added opportunities without compromising quality in these projects as we move forward.”
