Roger's Roo Pride Award Nominations
Since the fall of 2014, Weatherford ISD has honored a True Blue Kangaroo Fan at varsity home football games.This award celebrates a fan who is a loyal Kangaroo, promotes Roo Pride, has extreme Kangaroo spirit, and supports our students by attending high school games and events.
When Weatherford ISD created this award, it was a unanimous decision that the first recipient of this award should be our former teacher, Pizza Place owner, and the epitome of all things Roo Pride – Roger Grizzard. On Friday, September 5, 2014, Weatherford ISD presented the first True Blue Kangaroo Fan award to Roger Grizzard at Kangaroo Stadium,
On Friday, September 13, 2019, Weatherford ISD announced that Roger’s legacy would live on and renamed the True Blue Kangaroo Fan award to the Roger’s Roo Pride Award in memory of our dear friend.
