All WISD Campuses Receive Energy Star Rating

We are proud to announce that all WISD campuses have received the Energy Star rating for energy efficiency! Energy Star certified buildings save energy, money, and help protect the environment by generating fewer greenhouse gas emissions than typical buildings. To become certified as Energy Star, a building must meet strict energy performance standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Since 2019, WISD has worked closely with Cenergistic engineers, experts, and energy specialists to audit and optimize energy using systems across the District to achieve healthier, more energy efficient buildings. Achieving the Energy Star rating for every campus is a major accomplishment for Weatherford ISD and is a direct result of focus on conserving energy,” said Dr. Beau Rees, superintendent. “Our school board is committed to being fiscally responsible and that includes the effective and efficient use of utilities. By optimizing our infrastructure, improving our internal processes, and changing our behavior, we are working to decrease our energy consumption and save valuable resources that can be used to support other programs.”
