Shane Smith Named Tison Middle School Principal

The Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Shane Smith as principal for Tison Middle School.

Dr. Beau Rees said, “Mr. Smith brings continuity and a wealth of knowledge to the position of Principal for Tison Middle School. He is well-respected by students and staff and is excited to move into this new position to lead the campus forward.”

Shane Smith has served as the Dean of Instruction and Assistant Principal at Tison Middle School for the past four years. Prior to his time at Tison, Mr. Smith served as a high school principal, high school associate principal, athletic director, teacher, and head football coach at schools in both Texas and California. Mr. Smith started his career in education as a middle and high school social studies teacher.

Originally from Fort Worth, Mr. Smith received his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Texas Christian University. He then went on to complete two masters’ degrees and an Educational Specialist degree in K-12 School Leadership.

“I am thrilled and humbled by the opportunity to serve as the new Principal at Tison Middle School, and I can't wait to build on the academic and extracurricular success we have established at our school,” said Shane Smith.
