Weatherford ISD has earned a perfect score of 100 on the 2024–25 School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
The School FIRST system was created to ensure that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices. Each district is measured on 21 key indicators such as fund balance, debt management, and internal controls to determine the district’s financial solvency and competency. Weatherford ISD’s perfect score reflects the district’s transparency, responsible use of funds, and long-standing financial stability.
A perfect School FIRST score demonstrates:
- Financial Strength: Weatherford ISD consistently shows sound budgeting, accurate reporting, and effective long-term fiscal planning.
- Community Trust: This recognition affirms for taxpayers, families, and staff that district funds are managed with integrity and purpose.
- Student Priority: By maintaining efficiency and accountability, Weatherford ISD ensures that district resources are invested where they matter most—supporting classrooms and student success.
- Shared Commitment: This achievement represents the combined effort of the Board of Trustees, finance team, district leadership, and staff, all working together to uphold the highest standards of financial stewardship.

This recognition not only highlights the district’s financial strength but also underscores the dedication of the WISD Board of Trustees, finance team, administrators, and staff who work diligently to ensure resources are managed wisely for the benefit of students.
As part of the School FIRST requirements, the district will publish a Financial Management Report that includes the rating and required financial disclosures to provide additional transparency for the public. The report will be available on the Weatherford ISD website following its presentation at the regular Board of Trustees meeting on October 20, 2025.
