Board Names Dr. Sean Scott Lone Finalist for Superintendent

The Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees has named Dr. Sean Scott as the district’s lone finalist for superintendent following a comprehensive search process.

The decision comes after months of work by the Board of Trustees that included gathering feedback from staff, parents, and community members, reviewing applications, and conducting multiple interviews.

Dr. Scott currently serves as Deputy Superintendent for Mansfield ISD, where he supports the superintendent in the daily operations of the district and provides leadership for several key areas, including student services, human resources, and district operations.

With more than 25 years of experience in Texas public education, Dr. Scott has served as a teacher, coach, campus principal, and district administrator. Throughout his career, he has focused on strengthening academic outcomes, supporting educators, and building collaborative relationships with families and communities to support student success.

Dr. Scott earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and master’s degrees in Business Administration and Education from Texas Christian University.

“The Board is excited to name Dr. Sean Scott as the lone finalist for superintendent,” said Weatherford ISD Board President Mike Guest. “Throughout this process, Dr. Scott demonstrated strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of public education, and a clear commitment to students, staff, and the Weatherford community. We believe he is well positioned to lead Weatherford ISD into the future.”

State law requires a 21-day waiting period before the Board of Trustees can officially vote to hire the superintendent. The Weatherford ISD Board is expected to take formal action on the superintendent appointment following the required waiting period.
