Weatherford ISD is proud to announce that the district’s Business Office has earned two prestigious honors from the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO): the 2026 Award of Excellence in Financial Management and the 2026 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations.
These statewide recognitions highlight school districts that demonstrate exceptional leadership, transparency, and best practices in financial management and purchasing operations.
Weatherford ISD was one of only 34 educational organizations across Texas selected to receive the Award of Excellence in Financial Management. The award recognizes districts that meet rigorous professional standards in budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and fiscal oversight.
Applicants must submit extensive documentation across 11 key areas of financial management, including budgeting, internal controls, financial reporting, staff training, cash management, and innovative financial practices. Submissions are reviewed by a TASBO Accounting and Finance Subcommittee and evaluated using standards aligned with the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG).
In addition to the Award of Excellence, Weatherford ISD also received the TASBO Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations, which recognizes school districts that demonstrate the highest professional standards in procurement practices and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. Weatherford ISD was one of only 84 districts statewide to receive this distinction for 2026.

The awards were presented during the TASBO Annual Conference in Grapevine, where school business officials from across Texas gathered to celebrate excellence and share best practices in school finance and operations.
