The Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the hiring of Dr. Sean Scott as superintendent during its meeting on Monday, March 30.
Dr. Scott joins Weatherford ISD with more than 25 years of experience in Texas public education and a strong background in district leadership, curriculum & instruction, and operations. Prior to being named superintendent of Weatherford ISD, Dr. Scott most recently served as Deputy Superintendent for Mansfield ISD, overseeing the daily leadership and management of the district and key areas including curriculum & instruction, student services, human resources, and district operations.
“The Board of Trustees is proud to officially name Dr. Sean Scott as the next superintendent of Weatherford ISD,” said Board President Mike Guest. “He is a thoughtful and experienced leader who understands the importance of supporting students, staff, and the community. We are confident in his leadership and excited about the future of our district.”
Dr. Scott’s experience spans both campus and district leadership, with a background that includes service as a teacher, coach, principal, and district administrator. During his time in district leadership at Mansfield ISD, the district saw growth in academic performance, expanded student opportunities, and became a national leader in college and career readiness, with 98% graduating College, Career, & Military Ready in 2025.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve Weatherford ISD as superintendent,” said Dr. Scott. “This is a district with a strong tradition of excellence and a deep commitment to students. I look forward to working alongside our staff, families, and community to support every student and continue building on the strong foundation already in place.”
A proud graduate of Texas Christian University, Dr. Scott holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and master’s degrees in Business Administration and Education.
