Weatherford ISD has named Scott Curran as the district’s new Director of Athletics.
Curran most recently served as Assistant Director of Athletics for Northwest ISD, where he supported athletic programs across multiple high schools and middle schools and helped oversee operations including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, transportation and event management.
He also brings extensive coaching experience, having served as head boys basketball coach at Byron Nelson High School, Denison High School and Brewer High School. Over the course of his career, Curran’s teams earned multiple district titles and playoff appearances, and he received several coaching honors, including Fort Worth Star-Telegram Coach of the Year and multiple District Coach of the Year awards.
Curran holds a master's degree from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a bachelor’s degree from Sul Ross State University.
