Weatherford ISD Names Derrick Doyle as Fine Arts Coordinator

Weatherford ISD has named Derrick Doyle as the district’s new fine arts coordinator.

Doyle currently serves as director of bands and fine arts department chair at Chisholm Trail High School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, where he oversees the band program and supports campus fine arts programs, including choir, theatre, visual arts, and dance/drill team.

Under his leadership, the Chisholm Trail band program earned multiple UIL Sweepstakes awards, first division ratings, and Area Finals appearances in marching band competition. He also helped guide the program’s growth from one middle school feeder campus to two while maintaining a cohesive vision for the band program.

Doyle brings extensive leadership experience through the Texas Music Educators Association, where he serves as Band Division Chair for Region 30, the largest TMEA region in Texas. In that role, he coordinates All-Region auditions, clinics, concerts, and region-level band initiatives involving thousands of students and educators annually.

His previous experience includes roles as assistant band director at Chisholm Trail High School and Saginaw High School, percussion instructor in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, and graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas.

Doyle earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in percussion performance from the University of Arkansas. He also earned a Master of Divinity from Abilene Christian University and completed principal certification coursework through Lamar University.

He will oversee and support fine arts programs across the district in his new role.
