Weatherford ISD has once again earned an A – Superior Achievement rating through the state’s School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, known as School FIRST. This marks the 24th consecutive year Weatherford ISD has earned the state’s highest financial accountability rating.
The district received a score of 96 out of 100 in the latest evaluation. Under the state’s rating system, districts scoring between 90 and 100 receive an A – Superior Achievement rating.
School FIRST is the Texas Education Agency’s financial accountability system for public school districts. The system evaluates financial management practices across areas such as budgeting, financial reporting, debt, long-term solvency, internal controls, and compliance.
Weatherford ISD met all four of the state’s critical financial indicators, including timely submission of its annual financial report, receiving an unmodified audit opinion, compliance with debt agreements, and timely payments to government agencies.
The latest Superior Achievement rating reflects Weatherford ISD’s continued commitment to responsible financial management, thoughtful long-term planning, and careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars. It also represents the ongoing work of the WISD Board of Trustees, finance team, district leadership, and staff to maintain strong financial practices while keeping resources focused on supporting students and schools.
