Weatherford ISD is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on a community Facility Planning Committee that will examine the district’s long-term facility and capital needs and help develop recommendations for consideration by the Board of Trustees.
The committee will bring together residents representing a range of backgrounds and connections to Weatherford ISD, including parents, employees, students, graduates, business and civic leaders, and community members without a direct connection to the district.
“Planning responsibly for the future begins with listening to our community,” said Dr. Sean Scott, Weatherford ISD superintendent. “This committee will allow residents to study the information, ask questions and help identify priorities based on the needs of Weatherford ISD as a whole.”
During the committee process, members will review and discuss information related to:
- Student and instructional needs
- Enrollment and demographic trends
- Current facility conditions and future needs
- District finances and funding considerations
- Potential projects, costs and tradeoffs
- Districtwide priorities and the potential impact on taxpayers
The committee’s work is part of the district’s long-term planning process and does not assume that a bond proposal will move forward. Serving on the committee does not require support for a future bond election. Members will be asked to consider the information presented, participate respectfully in discussions and evaluate the needs of the district as a whole.
Four committee meetings are planned:
- October 26, 2026
- November 9, 2026
- December 7, 2026
- January 7, 2027
Meeting times and locations will be announced when finalized. Because each meeting will build on information and discussion from previous meetings, selected members will be expected to attend consistently and participate throughout the process.
Applicants must live within Weatherford ISD boundaries. Previous committee experience is not required. A limited number of committee seats are available, and an application does not guarantee you will be selected.
