Weatherford Independent School District has been recognized for the third consecutive year as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT).
The recognition highlights Weatherford ISD’s continued commitment to providing high-quality Career and Technical Education opportunities that prepare students for success in college, careers, and life beyond graduation.
The CTE District of Distinction designation recognizes Texas school districts that demonstrate strong leadership, innovative instruction, workforce alignment, and meaningful opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with future careers. Receiving the distinction for three consecutive years reflects Weatherford ISD’s sustained focus on providing students with relevant, hands-on learning experiences.
“Being recognized as a CTE District of Distinction for the third consecutive year is a reflection of the dedication of our students, teachers, and community partners,” said Ember McCune, Weatherford ISD Director of Career and Technical Education. “We are proud to continue expanding meaningful, hands-on opportunities that help students discover their strengths, develop real-world skills, and prepare for success after graduation.”
Weatherford ISD’s CTE programs allow students to explore a wide range of career pathways while gaining practical experience and opportunities to earn industry-based certifications. Programs include areas such as health science, engineering, agriculture, culinary arts, automotive technology, cybersecurity, education and training, welding, and more.
Through relationships with local businesses, industry leaders, and higher education institutions, Weatherford ISD continues to strengthen opportunities for students to develop the knowledge and skills needed for high-demand careers and continued education.
The CTE District of Distinction program was established by CTAT to recognize districts that meet rigorous standards for innovation, workforce preparation, student opportunity, and measurable outcomes. Weatherford ISD’s third consecutive designation reflects the continued work of CTE teachers, students, staff, and community supporters to provide meaningful career-focused opportunities across the district.
