Wrestling Results 12/3/13

The Wrestling teams took on district rival Midlothian Tuesday night at the NGC in what turned out to be a very closely contested battle for the boys and another dominating win for the girls team.
The JV boys team lead off the night winning 2 out of the first 3 matches before it became a back and forth trade of wins and losses the rest of the night. Coach Sanders was extremely pleased with the effort of the JV Team as the they continue to show improvement.
The girls Varsity continued their domination of the mat winning all but one of their matches.  They collected 4 more pins and a tech fall on their way to a 35-6 victory and coming close to recording the elusive shut out once again.
The Varsity boys started the night by having to spot the Panthers 6 points in the 106lb class with an open spot in their roster.  The Roos quickly tied it up as Boone Kelley recorded a first period pin to start the dual.  The teams traded wins and a lot of blood time through several intense matches as Midlothian slowly built a lead.  At the midway point and trailing the Panthers, Tyler DeLong, having to wrestle a weight class up, took the mat intent on starting a rally and came up with an outstanding victory over the Panthers Heavyweight. The great win would not be enough however, as the Roos eventually fell 40-32.
