Eighth Grade "A" Team
Weatherford - 37
Brewer - 34
The “A” Team won 37-34 in a hard hitting shootout. Scoring started on an opening kick off return of 70yards by Lucas Loran and the extra point by Alex Rodriguez. The Roos quickly followed on the next possession by a 40-yard touchdown reception by Trey Owens from Loran. Ethan "Beast Mode" Herron ended the first half scoring on a 15-yard screen pass from Loran who then scored on a 2-point conversion run.
In the third quarter, Trey Owens threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jake Akins with Loran scoring on the PAT run.
In the fourth quarter, Trey Owens ended the scoring for the night on a 2-yard run and by throwing a 2-yard PAT to Jake Akins for a 37-34 score.
Deandre Curry ended the game with a crucial interception to seal the win, leaving only the Roo victory formation needed to run out the clock.
Eighth Grade "B" Team
Weatherford - 14
Brewer - 12
The "B" team (3-0-1) had a tremendous come-from-behind win that included a total second half domination over Brewer.
Weatherford's offense held the ball the majority of the second half allowing Brewer a total of six offensive plays as the team drove the length of the field in scoring the winning touchdown with less than 20 seconds remaining in the game.
Gage Chandler had touchdown runs of 4 and 3 yards.
Josh Laxson and Sebastian Gomez made big defensive plays including forcing a turnover.
Eighth Grade "C" Team
Weatherford - 18
Brewer - 6
Brandon Renteria collected a fumble recovery while Jaden Alix and Tucker Mayberry each had an interception.
