Hall Middle School GMP Clarification Statement

Dear Weatherford ISD community,

On behalf of the WISD Board of Trustees, I would like to clarify the headline that appeared in February 16, 2016 edition of the Weatherford Democrat stating millions of dollars have been saved with the approval of the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the construction of the new Hall Middle School.

At last week’s school board meeting, the WISD Board of Trustees approved a GMP of $33,207,449 for the building of the new Hall Middle School. The GMP reflects only the construction costs of this new facility. Additional costs such as architecture and engineering fees, geo technical services, city permits, along with fixtures, furniture and equipment (FF&E) are expected to bring the total cost of the facility to over $40 million.

The total cost for the new Hall Middle School campus remains in line with projected costs presented to our community prior to the 2015 Bond Election.

Weatherford ISD and our Board of Trustees is committed to being fiscally responsible and good stewards of taxpayer dollars.
