Director of Communications
Reid Blackwell was named Director of Communications for Weatherford ISD, replacing Charlotte LaGrone who is retiring at the end of June.
Mr. Blackwell brings a strong background in public relations, strategic communication, and school district messaging. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Public Relations, and Journalism from Baylor University. During his time at Baylor, he completed internships with Northwest ISD and the Heart of Texas Retired Senior Volunteer Program, gaining early experience in both education and nonprofit communications.
His professional career includes roles as Marketing Administrator and Marketing Manager for Lone Star Park, where he led promotional campaigns and managed community engagement initiatives. Since 2019, he has served in key roles within the Mesquite ISD communications department, most recently as Communications Coordinator, where he developed district-wide messaging, led multimedia projects, and supported campus-level communication strategies.
