Toby Taylor - Board Member
Second Term

Toby Taylor was elected to the Weatherford ISD Board of Trustees in November 2020.

Toby Taylor attended Texas A&M University, where he received a degree in Environmental Design / Architecture in 1993. Upon graduation, he worked at an architectural firm in Fort Worth for several years before joining his family’s air conditioning business. Toby earned his HVAC license, which he utilized for the next 20 years serving as General Manager, with annual sales in excess of $5 million. When the opportunity arose to purchase a business in his hometown, Toby seized the moment and purchased AlphaGraphics, a print, sign, and design company in the heart of downtown Weatherford.

Because Toby’s career path exposed him to many different trades, he is driven to expand the Career & Technical Education program at Weatherford ISD. In cooperation with several area schools, Toby works with 4-5 students each year, offering internships at AlphaGraphics. As students explore the production process from design to print, they gain practical experience and exposure to several career opportunities, many of which they can pursue while still at the high school level. This collaboration between local businesses and Weatherford ISD is invaluable for students entering the workforce. It also strengthens community bonds and creates positive relationships with local stakeholders. Engaging local businesses to partner with the school in this capacity is critical for continued success of the CTE program.

Toby serves on the WISD Advisory Council for Career & Technical Education. He is a graduate of the inaugural WISD Ambassador Program as well as the Leadership Program through the Weatherford Chamber. He serves on the board of directors of the Christian Men’s Fellowship and the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. He is the acting treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 109 and a former Den Leader of Cub Scout Troop 109. He serves as an Ambassador for the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce. He’s a former WISD WatchDog and Weatherford Junior League basketball coach. He enjoys volunteering at Center of Hope and Beautiful Feet ministries. Toby also serves as a deacon at Trinity Bible Church and is very active in the youth and men’s ministries. Oftentimes you will find Toby in the nursery, where he is affectionately known as “The Baby Whisperer.”

Toby is different. After a motorcycle accident in 1999 left him partially paralyzed, he has a greater perspective on faith, perseverance, and the inherent value of people. While navigating life in a wheelchair presents physical challenges, he embraces his differences and fully understands the need for an individualized approach to education. Whether that’s overcoming a physical barrier, tending to an emotional sentiment, feeding an academic giftedness, or navigating a behavioral tendency, Toby is passionate about addressing the uniqueness in all students. That passion, coupled with his heart for young people, gives him a unique position to serve as a voice for all students.

Toby has been married to his wife, Beth, for 29 years. They have two boys, Riley (17) and Colby (16), who attend Weatherford ISD. Toby and his wife moved to Parker County in 2001 and they are proud to call Weatherford home.
