Varsity Wrestling 12/17/14

Azle and Saginaw High Schools rolled into Weatherford Tuesday night for Varsity Duels producing some of the closest team scores of the season.

Weatherford took on Saginaw first in a duel that went down to the last man, with the final score ending 39-39 with Cole Fournier and Nestor Oviedo recording pins.  Weatherford won the dual on takedowns 11-9. In the second duel of the night, the boys team took on Azle in what was another down to the wire finish with Weatherford narrowly winning 33-31.  Cole Fournier, Alan Prince, and Jacob Fetterolf recording pins for the Roos.

On the girls side, it was business as usual as they defeated Saginaw 41-18 and Azle 42-12. Coaches recognized Alex Herle, Kim Sharp and Kaitlyn Reid for big come from behind wins that kept momentum in favor of the Roos.

Both boys and girls teams will be in action this weekend with the boys Varsity traveling to a tournament in Saginaw and the girls to the Coppell tournament
