The Weatherford JV Baseball team traveled to Arlington Heights for their first game of the season and came out with a big win, beating Cleburne 3-1. Weatherford scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning to finally take the lead, and held off Cleburne by coming up with some clutch plays in the bottom half of the inning to seal the win. Alex Mireles hit a big 2 run single that put the Roo's ahead for good, and Jackson Funderburk threw out a guy at home that saved a run in the bottom of the 7th. Garrett Mendoza pitched 6 strong innings, striking out 7. Quaid Gunnells relieved him in the 7th and closed out the win. The Roo's travel back to Arlington Heights to play the winner of the Arlington Heights/Keller game. The JV Roo's record is now 1-0.
