The Varsity Lady Roos Softball team participated in their first tournament of the year in Southlake this past weekend. The Lady Roos finished the tournament 4-2 overall. The Lady Roos recorded wins over Midlothian, Euless Trinity, Haltom, and Bryan. The Lady Roos offense was outstanding over the weekend with a total of 59 base hits over three days. Offensive leaders were Junior Kelsey O'Brien with 11 hits including a home run, Senior Abbey Cowan with 10 hits including a home run, Junior Ashleigh Erb with 9 hits including a home run, and Senior Liz Konig with 6 hits including a home run. Junior pitcher Kelsey O'Brien and Freshmen Lauren Lightfoot split time on the mound and had great outings. The Lady Roos will begin district play on Tuesday against Arlington Bowie in Arlington at 6pm. Go Roos!
