An impressive performance from Junior Kelsey O'Brien led the Weatherford Lady Roos Varsity Softball team to a 11-1 win Friday over Paschal, as Kelso came up huge at the plate and on the rubber. Kelso racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Lady Roos. She singled in the first inning, homered in the second inning, and tripled in the third inning. Kelso kept contact to a minimum, striking out 10 Paschal batters. Kelso allowed no earned runs on five hits and one walk over five innings.
Eleven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Lady Roos to easily put away Paschal. An RBI double by Abbey Cowan and an error during the first inning and an RBI triple by Meredith Dickey, an RBI triple by Ashleigh Erb, and a two-run home run by Kelso in the second inning fueled Weatherford's offense early. The Lady Roos are now 9-2 in district play. They travel to North Crowley on Tuesday. The Varsity game time is 6 pm with JV to follow. GO ROOS!
