Board recognizes WHS head baseball coach for recently earning 400th career win

Massey has been in education for 29 years; a head coach for 19 years; and a part of the Weatherford ISD family for eight years as an American History teacher and baseball coach.

Out of those eight years, the baseball team has made playoffs six out of seven years and has won five Bi-District championships and one Area championship. Last fall, Massey was nominated for the 2013 University Interscholastic League Sponsor Excellence Award.

Massey estimates that 60-70 of his students have gone on to play at the college level. Two of his former students play in the pros, and one, Aubrey Huff, won a World Series with the San Francisco Giants against the Texas Rangers.
