Unauthorized Instagram Account

On Monday afternoon, we were notified of an unauthorized Weatherford ISD Instagram account that contained several offensive posts and comments. We immediately reported this site to Instagram as an impersonated account and sent several subsequent notifications to Instagram because of the content on this site. The Weatherford Police Department was also notified to initiate an investigation into the origin of this account. This site has now been deleted, but another site claiming to be a parody site has been launched under the Weatherford ISD name.

These unauthorized Instagram sites send a message that is not aligned with our values as a school district and community. We take these posts seriously, investigate immediately, and if possible, will prosecute to the fullest extent possible within the law. We are continuing to work with the Weatherford Police Department on this matter.
