Fine Arts in Weatherford ISD

Weatherford ISD offers students a comprehensive fine arts program in music, theater, visual arts and dance. Students' lives are enriched and dreams become reality through involvement in the intangible, invaluable world of the visual and performing arts.
Theater
Weatherford ISD Theatre provides students with opportunities to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts. From introductory theatre classes to advanced performance and technical design, our program encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and self-expression.Each year, our theatre students bring stories to life through a variety of productions, including plays, musicals, and student-directed works. Behind the curtain, students gain valuable skills in stagecraft, lighting, sound, set construction, and costume design. On stage, they learn the art of performance, teamwork, and connecting with an audience.

Band

Band instruction begins in the sixth grade. In high school, students have the opportunity to participate in the Fightin' Roo Marching Band that performs at all varsity football games and selected contests. In the fall of 2022, the Marching Band earned the Sweepstakes award and advanced to the UIL Area competition.
Blue Belles

The award-winning Blue Belles dance team are 45 years strong! Under the direction of Laura Buckner, the Belles are the showcase of Weatherford High School. Students may begin taking dance while in middle school. The Belles are active in the community, participating in parades and volunteering at the Parker County Sheriff's Posse Frontier Days Rodeo.
Choir

While students may experience participation in an elementary choir, they really begin to develop more serious vocal training at the intermediate school in sixth grade. As their voices develop, students will experience a full range of musical styles. Emphasis is placed on the development of proper vocal techniques, the study of choral techniques, basic music theory, sight-singing, music history and literature, creative self-expression, and vocal performance.
