Accident Procedures
- Call 911 – Contact Local authorities
- Emergency information provided to local authorities (insurance, licenses, statements)
- Director of Transportation joins investigation
- Student information forwarded to WISD
- Parents & caregivers contacted concerning accident
- Medical personnel will determine any need for additional medical attention
- Only law enforcement or Director of Transportation can release students onsite
- School bus will be replaced by lead mechanic if unable to complete route
- Students will be transported home once released from local authorities
- Any parent or caregiver who wishes to pick up their child from the accident scene must have proper identification
- No unauthorized individuals will be allowed on the school bus
