Proposed Library Materials

Weatherford ISD is posting the lists of proposed library materials for public review at least 30 days before the Board of Trustees considers them. Under Texas law, the Board must approve or reject the list at the first open meeting held 30 days or later after the list is made available to the public. This posting requirement applies to all library materials—whether purchased or donated—before they can be approved.

Included below are the following:

  • The lists of titles proposed for addition (title, author, grade band, and notes as available).
  • Posting date for each list and the earliest Board meeting date on which action may be taken (30 or more days after posting).

How to provide feedback
Community members may review the lists and share comments by emailing the campus librarian. Feedback received will be provided to the School Library Advisory Committee at the scheduled meeting prior to the Board taking action.

Important notes

  • Inclusion on a list indicates the material is proposed and pending Board action; it is not yet approved for acquisition or placement.

  • District policy and state standards for school library collection development continue to apply.
