Bus Route Information

Dear Parents or Caregivers,

We’re happy to announce that Weatherford ISD will be launching an innovative transportation solution for our school buses, BusView, which provides GPS tracking for buses and student monitoring via RFID cards.

BusView monitors bus location, idle-time, stops and other key bus metrics, as well as where / when students board and exit buses in real-time.  This enables us to closely monitor buses to know where our students are along routes and to proactively respond to all transportation issues.  It also provides peace of mind for parents or caregivers, as no more worrying if your kids made it on the correct bus or exited at the right bus-stop.

There is also a portal and app for parents, which enables parents to see when their child boards and exits buses with time and location stamps.  Parents can also set parameter-alerts to get notified on pick-up and drop-off of their kids.  Plus, when buses travel out-of-town (sports, UIL, FFA, field trips, etc.), parents can receive SMS text messages to get approximate return-time notifications on field-trips.

To access ParentView, the app is free and can be downloaded on Google Play for Android or the App Store for Apple.   Parents may also go to www.nftbusview.com to register each child.  Once on the website, click on “PARENTS” and scroll-down and you will see App downloads for Android and Apple, as well as the Web Login for the web-based Parent Portal (you may access from any and all of these methods).

To register, please provide the following:

  • Your child’s campus (i.e. Elementary, Middle School, Jr. High, etc.)
  • Student ID Number
  • Date of Birth
  • 4 Digit Code – __________

If a parent has multiple children riding buses, they must first fully complete the registration for one child and then log into BusView and click on “New Student” to register each subsequent child. This user-friendly solution is available in English and Spanish.

If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Office at 817-598-2976 or via email at [email protected]

Our entire focus here is for improved child safety and parent convenience.

Respectfully,

Dr. Jason Dunkelberger
Director of Transportation

As a reminder, all riders must have a current rider permit completed for the new school year to ensure bus service. Permits may be submitted to your student's campus or to the transportation office.

A parent may also designate a grandparent’s residence as the regular pickup and drop-off location for his or her child. The designated residence must be on an approved stop on an approved route.
