Wright Elementary was honored to host a magical event!

Wright Elementary student Tripp Fowler is one incredibly tough and happy young boy despite being born with a heart defect It's called hypoplastic left heart syndrome So basically, he's born with half a heart. He's had three open heart surgeries to basically reroute his heart so the right side of his heart does all the work So, he's done with his planned surgeries now we just wait and see how long his heart lasts. It could be up into his 40s, 50s we don't know everyone's different. Tripp's story caught the attention of the North Texas Make-A-Wish Foundation. We met Tripp I think back in July. And he came up as a Wish child. We went to meet him and fell in love with him immediately. He's a kid that does not slow down as you can see. Even after all of the adversities he's faced it's just been amazing. So, Tuesday in front of all of his classmates Tripp was in for a surprise that included a video message from a princess yeah I heard you. thought she was pretty and she sent me a video to share with you. So, if you'll watch this screen here. Hi Tripp! It's me Repunzell. Oh, I've heard a lot about you. A little boy with a big dream! I had a dream once too and I made it come true. I'm here to tell you that you're dream is coming true too. Your'e going to Disney! I can't wait to see you and your family at the castle. I'll be sure to tell my princess friends that you'll be there too Well, see you soon! Bye! Tripp also got to meet Weatherford  high school athletes, Blue Belles, and cheerleaders. Tripp! Hey Tripp! You got your wish! It means the world. I mean we've spent the past five years in the hospital. He's had 3 open heart surgeries. We've seen him have strokes and be sick. For us to be able to go for a week to Disneyworld to see him just having the time of his life and not have to worry about the hospital it's pretty special. While Tripp has numerous friends at school he's looking forward to meeting some new ones at Disney I got Disney World book. It has all my characters that I want to meet I want to actually take that to Disney World. Cause when I look at the Disney World characters I want to meet...I want to meet them. Tripp got to choose his destination through Make-a-Wish but his parents got to make the choice of when and where to reveal the surprise Well, he loves being here just to be honest with you ever since last year he always talks about I mean when I said he was going to Disney he said I want to stay here. So, this is where he likes to be. Everyday, even when there is no school. He says I got to go to school today Well there's no school or its a holiday. It's just fitting to be here. Where he likes to be. It's his comfort zone kind of. We were so excited to be able to pull this off for Tripp. it was a wonderful experience for us. And just so exciting to see all of that high school students here in the Roo here. The students were so excited to see Tripp get his wish granted A special thanks to Make-A-Wish and Wright Elementary for working together to give Tripp a special day. And we hope that Tripp and his family have a magical experience at Disney World.
