State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR)
 
The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program includes annual assessment for
  • reading and mathematics, grades 3-8
  • reading and mathematics Spanish, grades 3-5
  • science, grades 5 and 8
  • science Spanish, grade 5
  • social studies, grade 8
  • end-of-course ( EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S. History.
 
 
Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS)
 
TEA designed the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) and the TELPAS Alternate to assess the progress that Emergent Bilingual students make in learning the English language. TELPAS is administered for listening, speaking, reading, & writing.
 
Parent reports are sent home at the end of each school year.
