Heather's Books
In the fall of 2018, the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation added a new funding priority called Heather's Books. Launched in memory of Ikard Elementary teacher Heather Holland, this legacy program continues her dream of instilling a love of reading in children.
The Weatherford ISD Education Foundation gives each Pre-K student a $10 Heather's Books voucher to purchase books from their school's fall and spring book fairs.
Over 4,400 books have been provided to WISD Pre-K students to-date. Most importantly, we have given some children the opportunity to own their very first book.
