Seguin Elementary fourth grader Bella Precure was the recent winner of the Campus Spelling Bee. Also, fifth grader Andrew Cleveland finished as Runner-Up.

Precure will represent Seguin Elementary in the upcoming District Spelling Bee at the WHS Ninth Grade Center.

WHS varsity girls basketball team still in the playoff hunt

Weatherford High School’s varsity girls basketball team remains in a battle with North Crowley for the fourth and final playoff spot after losing to top-ranked Arlington Bowie, 67-40, Tuesday in the WHS gymnasium.

The Lady Roos (11-10, 5-5) nearly matched Bowie (22-2, 10-0) in total points during the second half, but Bowie’s offensive explosion in the first was too difficult to overcome.
