Please be advised that the weather is expected to change over the next 24-48 hours, and please make sure that your child is dressed warmly. According to The Weather Channel, Thursday's forecast calls for a 70-percent chance of precipitation and a high of only 38.
Friday's conditions are projected to be even worse with an 80-percent chance of precipitation with a high of 30 and a low of 28.
Weatherford ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Hanks said in the event schools are closed or the daily schedule is altered due to a severe weather condition, information will be sent to television and radio stations, and will be posted on the district’s website, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Also, parents will be contacted through the district’s SchoolMessenger® notification system which is designed to call or text a massive number of people in a relatively short amount of time.
Also, in the event of potential inclement weather, the District will strive to make a decision by 6 a.m. so parents will have ample opportunities to make arrangements, if necessary, for their children."
